Hi everyone this is a free event featuring stings designed by Salford Illustration students and animated by 12foot6

Sport these amazing posters in and around Manchester for our Bar Shorts at Band on the Wall 30th April.

Tom was in Salford last week checking out the progress of a brief we set the illustration students. As part of our ongoing Bar Shorts screenings we asked them to come up with ideas for stings that could run between the short films during the screenings, essentially funny and short idents that would compliment each film. There were some wacky ideas and we’re looking forward to seeing them animated.

Tonight (29th). Brighton. Best of Bar Shorts.

From 7pm at Hourglass Pop-Up bar on Seven Dials, Brighton.

Watch out Brighton! Bar Shorts is a delicious pick and mix of shorts ranging from the scary to the sublime, mixed with a shandy or three.

The Best of Bar Shorts 2012 will include Will Anderson’s award-winning Long Bird, Tom Jennings’ ‘Fruity’ new film for DJ Yoda, including shorts by the outrageous and delightful David Shrigley, Run Wrake, and Greg Jardin’s Joey Ramone stop-frame animation… to name just a handful.

With FU playing an eclectic mix of 80’s pop and breaks, hosted by Chris Shepherd and 12Foot6, the last Bar Shorts of this year should go off with a boozey bang.

Oh and it’s FREE!

We had a right good night at Bar Shorts II in London’s XOYO.

With new ‘Bob’ films from Darren Walsh, Headless Drummer by David Shrigley, Intermission by Robert Popper & Peter Serafinowicz, Happy Clapper by Tom Marshall. AND we got the chance to see Grace Petrie’s Rise directed by our very own Chris Shepherd & Rod Main.

Bar Shorts & Football
On Monday 11 June there’s more than just films and drinks at Bar Shorts. There’s football.
England v France will be screened before the event at 5pm. Entrance is free plus the bar is offering 4 Tiger or Sol beers for £10 during the game. And there’s food from Big Apple Hot Dogs. Of course animators and footballers are not always natural bed fellows.
Bar Shorts opens as normal at 7pm with films starting around 7.30pm. There’s new Bob films from Darren Walsh, Headless Drummer by David Shrigley, Intermission by Robert Popper & Peter Serafinowicz, Happy Clapper by Tom Marshall and a whole lot more. Plus the first chance to see Grace Petrie’s Rise directed by our very own Chris Shepherd & Rod Main. Grace Petrie will then perform a live acoustic set.
All this for free. Wow. Hope to see you there at XOYO, 32-37 Cowper Street, London EC2A 4AP.

We’re all feeling a little worse for wear after last night’s Bar Shorts hosted by Chris Shepherd at XOYO. So here follow some stills from the night. For those who didn’t make it down, the next one is soon.
Here’s Barry Evans’ magnificent Get Well Soon short.

The opening night of a brand new film night jam packed full of fun and frolics. Feature films are like pints while shorts are like, well shorts, spirits, chasers. Why not come and get blasted.

Shorts by Oscar nominee Grant Orchard, Joseph Pierce, Tim Brunsden, Jesse Collett plus stand up fun by Phil O’Shea. Plus some Channel 4 Random Acts.

And it’s free. How can you resist? 16th April! Be there or miss out big time.
